BlueTone Media has been in Wilmington for the past five years. The company has tripled in size, going from just two employees, to six in that span. And while the company continues to grow, we still keep everything customer oriented and believe there is no project too small.
BlueTone's Senior designer, Stephen, graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Graphic Design. Now living in Wilmington, he longs for a Mexican restaurant downtown, where he can enjoy taquitos after perusing one of his favorite shops, Planet. On weekends, Stephen is an international spy, but when he's not honing his espionage skills, he enjoys playing with his new baby girl. A big Star Wars and Transformers fan, Stephen admits being a geek is WAY more fun now than it was in high school.
Brad joined the team in early '08. A native of Charlotte and a 2002 graduate of UNC-Asheville, Brad moved to Wilmington so that he could say he's lived in every region of North Carolina. While at UNCA, he studied digital art, ordered a lot of pizza, and met a guy named Jimmy that would forever change his life. He also managed to obtain a degree in Multimedia Arts and Science. Right before moving to Wilmington, Brad got married to a lovely lass named Sommer.
Jordan brings youthfulness and a determined attitude to the BlueTone office. Since he joined the team in the fall of 2007, sales for the company have improved, right along with everyone’s spirits. And while that must be just a coincidence, Jordan has taken his charm and personality to the stage, too, having received a BA in film production from UNC-Wilmington, as well as performing in several local plays. He is engaged to a lovely young lady, Elizabeth, and the couple plan to get married in the summer of 2009.
BlueTone’s womanly touch comes from the hand of Carolyn, who brings an interesting mixture of her home state of New York and the small, NC mountain town she grew up in to the city of Wilmington. Carolyn moved out here to attend UNCW, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications, while minoring in music and dating her high school sweetheart, Jimmy. And although she has no known association with the mafia, Carolyn still understands that family is most important, saying “I have a great husband, a wonderful daughter, and another baby on the way.” In July 2004, with her delightful motherly qualities and fun personality, she quickly became a large part of BlueTone Media’s family as well.
Jimmy started the company back in 2002, and has worked very hard on developing creative custom web applications ever since. He has built online membership directories, accounting software, sales tracking, live inventory managers, and shipping modules - all of which have the ability to be maintained by the client. Jimmy's wife also works for BlueTone, as will his children in the next 20 years.
If you need to know where the coolest places are on the North Carolina coast, you should probably Google it. But if you aren't around a computer and have Mitch nearby, feel free to ask him. Raised in the Outer Banks with a heavy dose of surfing and fishing, he got a BS in Business Administration from Barton College in Wilson, NC before bringing his beach skills to Wilmington in 2004. Mitch enjoys an active lifestyle of playing basketball, golf, and watching his favorite sport teams. He also enjoys just hanging out with his girlfriend, Jennifer.
